Let the day go.

A short evening liturgy. Five sentences, eight breaths, one quiet word. Then the candle is put out and you may sleep.

An evening word

"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

Matthew 11:28

  1. 1.The day is over. The work is enough.
  2. 2.What was done, was done. What was left undone, is held.
  3. 3.Into your hands, O Lord, I commend my spirit.
  4. 4.Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep this night.
  5. 5.Guard us waking, and guard us sleeping; that awake we may watch with Christ, and asleep we may rest in peace.

Best done in a dim room, phone face-down when the breathing begins.
